Final four give lackluster performance on American Idol 9

The final four gave quite a lifeless  performance on America Idol 9, with the judges visibily and verbally unimpressed except for one, Crystal Bowersox. Don't take our word for it, not even the judges, see for yourself! Be your own judge, it's a reality show after all.

Lee Dewyze

Lee Dewyze performed on ‘Kiss from a Rose’, which received some heavy criticism by the judges. “You did nothing with that song, it was just okay, it was pitchy”, said the disappointed Randy Jackson. Ellen Degeneres and Kara Diogardi were considerably gentle in their comments, but the discontent was obvious. Ellen Degeneres expected more, while Kara pointed out that he had gone out of tune several times during the performance. Simon Cowell known for his hard hand at contestants lived true to his image, saying “that was verging on karaoke, i.e. trying to too hard to sound like the original, so if you were choosing a t-shirt, it would be contestant at that time”

Casey James

Casey James sang “Mrs. Robinson”, to which Randy Jackson questioned the choice of the song, visibly hinting at Kara, not too convinced with the performance he commented ‘it was a cool, laid-back version’, Ellen DeGeneres mockingly wished he had used a ‘big-boy guitar’, but she said that she liked the performance, Kara was of the opinion that Casey was fighting to stay in the competition, since he isn’t too comfortable with such songs, commenting “for me this was a good choice”, which provoked Simon to tease Kara. “The song and performance for the moment dint have the substance required on this important night for you, I Thought it was a little bit lazy, you could have made more of an impact”, Simon Commented.

Michael Lynce

Michael Lynce performed on Micheal Jackson’s ‘Will you be there’, Randy Jackson wished he had choosen an R&B song instead, “for me your R&B dude and you should have choosen some R&B, it was just alright for me, didn’t really take off”. Ellen voiced her unhappiness about Michael’s goal to just get in the top three and not and win the competition,”you were good, you sound good, but you were predictable”, she commented on the performance. Kara wished Michael would perform like his previous performance. Poking fun at Ellen, Simon said “I have no idea was free willy is”, he couldn’t connect Ellen comment on free willy and the current performance. However he seemed pleased with the performance saying “at least you gave it a hundred percent and I kinda felt that you meant it.”

Crystal Bowsersox

Crystal Bowersox chose “im Alright’ from Caddyshack, Randy Jackson was clearly happy with the performance saying “you are definitely an artist’, while also saying that she had done a nice job with the performance. Ellen and Kara pleased with Crystal said you took that song at made it better, ‘it was our best’, she added. Simon summed up the judges opinions, “after that song you are back in the game.”
